‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ Day 2 Box Office: Allu Arjun’s Film Shatters Records, Aims for ₹200 Crore Next Movie Southfreak

The action-packed thriller Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, is dominating the Indian box office. The movie has achieved the biggest opening day collection in Indian cinema history.

After earning ₹10.1 crore from preview shows on Wednesday, Pushpa 2 collected a massive ₹165 crore on its opening day, bringing the total to ₹175.10 crore.

  • Hindi: ₹67 crore
  • Tamil: ₹7 crore
  • Malayalam: ₹5 crore
  • Kannada: ₹1 crore

With this, the film has overtaken the opening day records of blockbusters like RRR (₹133 crore) and KGF Chapter 2 (₹116 crore).

In the Hindi market, Pushpa 2 also surpassed Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which had earned ₹65.5 crore on its opening day.

Overseas Success

The movie is performing exceptionally well globally, earning $4 million (approx. ₹33 crore) in North America alone, according to AA Creations.

Due to positive reviews and overwhelming demand, theatres in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata introduced late-night shows at 11:55 pm and 11:59 pm on Thursday.

The Story and Cast

Directed by Sukumar, the film revolves around a sandalwood mafia facing challenges as police tighten their grip. The cast includes Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, Anasuya Bharadwaj, and Rao Ramesh.

Pushpa 2: The Rule released worldwide on December 5 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. With its current momentum, the film is expected to cross the ₹200 crore mark domestically soon.
